Having to endure working the Elle Style Awards and having London fashion week at my school all at the same time has been pretty soul destroying. To get an ounce of humanity back Jodi and I decided to start a community project dressing charity shop windows in Dalston. We spoke to the guys at St. Vincent's on Kingsland Road and they were really up for it. The shop is double fronted and the windows are huge so it was a really fun one to start with. We had the pleasure of having Wobs and her Hasselblad to hand to document the goings on and help out [which mostly involved her dedicating 9% of the shop to a display of animal figurines]. St. Vincent's is a trove of little treasures.

Another job I had to do in Fiona's studio this week was to cut out lots and lots (and lots) of paper feathers. They take ages and i am clumsy with my scalpel so there was quite a lot of blood shed over these little things. They're going to be used to create the tails of paper peacocks which are being hung in massive Victorian bell jars at the Elle event.

HAPZ A BIZ SIZ
My friend Els loves Rob Ryan so Jodi and I made her a bit of a rip off copy for her birthday. We didn't have a scalpel so we cut it with a box cutter. Jodi has the patience of a saint and nimble fingers like an alien mouse so she cut out the majority of it. I designed it with a blunt pencil. Thanks Jo!

BIG ball
I'm currently interning at Fiona Leahy's studio helping with the design/production for the Elle style awards 2010. It's pretty hands on which is cool and I get to spend most of the day making and painting stuff which makes me happy.
Through interning there I met the artist Natalie Ferstendik and I'm now working as an assistant in her studio too. At the moment we're working on an installation for the event. She has designed a massive spherical chandelier covered in thousands of origami paper folds. It's a lot of work but a lot of fun.
Here is a picture of us working on it - it's about half way finished.
